Competition and Performance Teams

*The Local Performance Team is for dancers that want to perform but do not want to compete or attend conventions. Students on the Performance Team have 4 levels and must attend Ballet once a week, Tap once a week and Jazz once a week as well as performance team assigned classes/rehearsals held on Fridays. Dancers on the Performance Team will perform in 3 different performances around the Central Florida area throughout the year as well as perform in recital and the winter performance.

Try Outs Will Be Held the first week of August 2024! Ages 5-17.

This team is for more serious dancers that want to attend Conventions and Competitions with the Longwood Dance Academy's Dance Company. Students on the Competition Team will compete in 2 regional and possibly 1 national competition a year. This is a requirement as it is what we work for all year long as a group. Students are also required to attend 1 convention a "dance year" as a team. All dancers in the Longwood Dance Academy's Dance Company must attend the required classes and rehearsals weekly in order to be part of the team.

**All company members can expect to have to take the required classes at the dancer's level in the competition team handbook, given to you the day you are accepted into team and sign the agreements to join. Fall dance class schedules will also be handed out at this time. All rehearsals for Company Dance numbers will happen on Fridays and select Saturdays throughout the year with rehearsal schedules to be updated on the bulletin board monthly.
